Update: 2006-05-10

We've upgraded our development server and the EU server to the shiny (oOoh! shiny!) MooIRCd2.2.1, which is based off ircd-hybrid 7.2.1. What's this mean for you? IPv6 and native SSL (not tunnelled)! Yep, you heard right. If you're using mIRC, check out their SSL page, otherwise you'll need to ensure you have SSL built into your client. I use mIRC and irssi, so we'll explain those here. For mIRC users:

/server -e irc.eu.hungryhacker.com

Or for irssi users:

/server -ssl irc.eu.hungryhacker.com

Anyone else can figure it out on their own. Oh, and as for IPv6, well if you had an IPv6 stack installed, using that same hostname will default to IPv6, so there's nothing to it.

We'll make sure everything's stable, then upgrade irc.hungryhacker.com.

Update: 2005-10-20

After a mid-morning debate with Prodigal|Son about the pros and cons of mp3 announcement scripts and #moo's current "no-fucking-way" policy, fwaggle has decided to institute a new policy: You are hereby granted permission to use mp3 annoucement scripts, as long as it's a /ACTION, and the last 8 characters are Control+K, 4, Control+K, 3, Control+K, 2, Control+K, 1. That's four color codes, which should be invisble, but will trigger a script on certain user's clients that don't wish to see it. My script looks like this (replace +s with Control+K character):

on ^*:action:*+4+3+2+1:*:{ halt }

You heard that right, you are hereby allowed to use mp3 announcements as much as you like, as long as you adhere to the rule above! That means if you're not smart enough to modify the shitty mp3 announce script you're using, then you can't use it!

Bastards.

Update: 2005-10-18

Testing the new static portion of our website - the dynamic portion is still coming (with channel configuration and whatnot). Enjoy. If you spot any weird bugs and stuff, please send a description and maybe a screenshot to fwaggle@hungryhacker.com.

Update: 2005-10-16

Channel registration is here! We are now alpha-testing our channel registration services, and a help file will be coming shortly. If you notice anything peculiar, or if you're doing something and ChanServ suddenly goes awol, please send us a log! Thank you.
